Chill hits L.A. production

Offlot feature filming went in to the frost nova in La, with a week ago seeing the cheapest level this season following two days of slow activity. The week's total of 67 days was six days less than the mid-April frame and under half of the identical frame this year. Feature activity would be a third from the 2011 levels for that year of 246 days and 229 days throughout the final two days of June. Warner Bros.' period drama "Gangster Squad," starring Sean Penn and Ryan Gosling, was probably the most active feature with 11 allowed days, based on figures provided Tuesday through the FilmL.A. enabling agency. Additional features lensing in L.A. incorporated "Coyote," "Lords of Salem," "Plan B.," "Seven Psychopaths" and "Purple." Total allowed production days rejected 19% to 533 a week ago. TV shooting rejected 31% to 398 days, with Little Pond's "Uncover" probably the most active a week ago with 31 days. Other TV productions presently shooting in L.A. include "508/509," "American Horror Story," "Prime Suspect," "Ringer," "Southland," "All over the world in 80 Plates," "The Braxtons" and "Wreck Room." TV Reality days are under half the things they were this past year for the similar period, when TV shooting was far beyond typical levels. Commercial shooting was off 38% to 3 months having a Honda commercial shot accumulating probably the most days at eight. Contact Dork McNary at dork.mcnary@variety.com
